Dear visitor!

I suppose you have already browsed through my internet pages and visited my galleries. I hope that some of the pictures found your interest and that you would like to order a nice picture for yourself.

Following you will find some information about me...

Me

I was born and raised in Berlin where, at a very early age, I began to paint and get acquainted with various drawing materials. It all began with simple crayon drawings which were soon replaced by pencil and red chalk drawings. Painting with colours and brushes lead to experiments with water color painting until I found an old oil paint box of my Grandpa with which I gained my first experiences with that technique. I was soon fascinated by the vast possibilities and techniques of oil painting so that I ventured to tackle bigger and more complex paintings. My preferred size for oil paintings made according to my own ideas is 50 x 70 cm.

Graphite drawing Felix

My pleasure in painting animal portraits goes back to my first animal painting. I wanted to please my parents by painting a picture of our family dog "Felix" as a gift for them. First, I took several pictures of Felix, picked the best one and made a pencil drawing. That worked out so well that I went one step forward and made the oil painting.

Oil picture Felix

Since many of my friends and relatives had a dog or a cat, too, I used my first animal oil painting of Felix for advertising purposes and received lots of orders for various animal portraits. Some customers were so thrilled that they had their animals painted by me again and again over the years. By that I had the chance to further improve my technique during the past years.

Bavarian landscape

The hobby kept developing and more and more people asked me to paint different pictures. I received orders for landscapes, birthday cards and oil ppaintings as copy of various artworks. That challenged me more and more and the orders became more complex. Unfortunately, I do not have photos of all paintings I made but I will try to get photos of one painting or the other and will then display them in my galleries.

Hedgehog

By the way, the hedgehogs that are always found in the lower corners of my paintings are my signature that I chose at the beginning of my oil painting. They originate from my early life in which I drew comics and collections of these hedgehogs. The , when I started making oil paintings I placed these small hedgehogs at the bottom of my pictures as trademark and still do that today.

Last but not I would like to drop some words on the slumbering talent of my sweetheart. She has always admired my painting fascinated until I got on the nerves long enough to make her try to paint an animal painting on her own. The results of her work can be admired in gallery 3.
